Family Of Woman They Say Was Murdered Calling For Action

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4) – The family of a woman who they say was murdered is calling for action from the Evans Police Department.

On Sunday friends and family of Ashley Fallis gathered outside the Evans police station to call for justice.

They say the mother of three did not shoot and kill herself and that they believe her husband killed her.

Ashley's husband was a Weld County Sheriff's Deputy.

Now protesters are calling for the detectives who conducted the death investigation be put on leave.

"January 1 2012, at that time it was very clear that the Evans Police Department was covering up one of their own and covering up her death which was a murder as a suicide," said Ashley's father Joel Raguindin.

Ashley's family claims those police officers purposely omitted witness statements that would have implicated her husband in her death.
