Elementary Students' Money Lesson Turns Into Donation For Flood Victims
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado elementary school has stepped up to help Colorado recover from the floods.
At Lasley Elementary School in Lakewood a penny collection added up to $1,600. The students have been collecting the coins for the past couple of months.
What started out as a lesson on money turned into a donation for flood victims.
The students invited Lyons Elementary School Principal Andrew Moore from the St. Vrain Valley School District to hand over the donation to help recovering families in that community.
