Durango's First Retail Pot Store Opens
DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) - The first retail marijuana shop opened in Durango on Friday morning.
The store, Durango Organics and Wellness Center, is an existing medical pot dispensary.
"This has been a long road for us, and we definitely feel a sense of accomplishment with this," co-owner Jonny Radding told the Durango Herald. "We're really excited."
A second shop is licensed but won't start selling until mid-October.
Colorado voters approved recreational marijuana in 2012.
