Drug Dealing Suspect Runs Into Sewage Pond In Attempt To Escape Arrest
EDWARDS, Colo. (CBS4) - An Edwards man has been arrested after allegedly selling cocaine to an undercover police officer and then running into a sewage treatment plant pond in an attempt to escape.
The Eagle County Sheriff's Office arrested Ruben Rivera-Ortiz, 24 on Thursday.
Officers drew their weapons and ordered Rivera-Ortiz out of the pond and he was taken into custody.
Rivera-Ortiz was charged with felony possession and distribution of cocaine and misdemeanor resisting arrest. He's being on a $50,000 bond.
Rivera-Ortiz is in the country illegally and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed an immigration detainer on him.
