DIA Flights Return To Normal After Overnight Snow

DENVER (CBS4)- Flights and operations returned to normal on Wednesday morning after overnight snow.

There were about 52 cancellations for flights, 27 departures and 25 arrivals, at DIA for Wednesday. The snow moved out of the area by 9 a.m. but strong winds were still present.

The airlines were in full deicing operations early Wednesday which caused some extra time on the planes for passengers. The average deicing time is about 16 minutes.

The FAA didn't report significant delays at DIA because of the snow.

Snow removal crews have been on the runway since midnight and runways and other paved surfaces were in good shape, according to DIA spokesman Heath Montgomery.

Copter4 flew over DIA just before 10 a.m. Wednesday where snowplows were clearing snow.
