Denver's Police Chief Takes Stand Against Cancer With Hair Clippers

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Police Chief Robert White took a stand against cancer on Thursday by shaving the head of one of his sergeants.

He shaved Sgt. Dan O'Shea's head to support one of their volunteers diagnosed with cancer.

Henry Klap is battling the disease for the second time.

The department knows Klap, 75, by his nickname "Pop Clutch" and they are rallying to support him.

"He's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met and one of the hardest working people. So I told him, 'Well, if the chemo takes your hair then we're going to take mine. And when yours grows back I'll grow mine back,'" said O'Shea.

Klap has been volunteering in the Fleet Management Department for about a year. The department describes him as an unsung hero.
