Denver Police Department Honors Their Own
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Police Department honored 17 outstanding officers on Friday.
Nine year veteran of the police force Eric Shurley received the Denver Officer of the Year Award. Shurley is a member of the gang unit.
He said ever since he was little he's wanted to be a police officer.
"There are a lot of us who work hard, we give everything we got every day and it's nice to be honored for that," said Shurley.
The other 16 officers received a variety of awards including the Medal of Honor, the Medal of Valor and the Distinguished Service Cross.
