Denver Beats Wisconsin To Advance In WCHA
DENVER (AP) -- Luke Salazar scored the game-winning goal early in overtime as Denver came from behind twice to beat Wisconsin 3-2 Sunday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
Salazar scored on a wrap-around 1:40 into overtime for the Pioneers (23-12-4), which won the last two games of the series to reach the WCHA Final Five.
Drew Shore assisted on three goals, including the game-winner.
Nick Shore scored early in the third period to make it 2-2 and force overtime. Denver's Ty Loney scored in the second period to tie the game 1-1.
Wisconsin (17-18-2) got goals from Mark Zengerle and Tyler Barnes. Each goal gave the Badgers a lead they couldn't hold.
Sam Brittain had 24 stops for Denver, and Joel Rumpel made 30 for Wisconsin.
