Decision On Charges Against Officer Who Shot Elk Could Come Friday

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The Boulder County district attorney says he should have a decision on Friday if criminal charges will be filed against a police officer who shot an elk.

Officer Sam Carter told his superiors he killed this elk because it appeared injured. Brent Curnow, an off-duty officer, then arrived and took the animal to process the meat.

Carter and Curnow are on paid leave pending results of an internal investigation.
