Community Meeting Scheduled To Discuss Fern Lake Fire
ESTES PARK, Colo. (AP) - Estes Park residents will get a briefing from officials on what they can expect for the next few months as firefighters battle a 6-square-mile wildfire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Fire officials say the Fern Lake Fire, which is 88 percent contained, will continue to smolder in dense forests. The meeting is being held Monday at 5 p.m. at the Estes Park Town Hall.
The fire, which remains under investigation, has been burning since Oct. 9 and has destroyed one cabin. All evacuation orders have been lifted.
