New Hot Dogs To Make Debut At Coors Field This Season

By Doug Hoffacker

DENVER (CBS4) - Ready for some new food choices at the ballpark this summer? How about a hot dog topped with pineapple, barbecue sauce and jalapenos? Or maybe a corned beef sandwich?

Those are two of the new offerings by food service provider Aramark to be sold just at Coors Field during Colorado Rockies games this season.

The new hot dog with pineapple is called the Beach Comber. It will be sold behind Sections 130 and 144. The Rockies Corned Beef Sandwich has onion tanglers, dijon slaw and swiss cheese.

Plus, baseball fans can try out four other signature items dreamed up in collaboration with TV chef Andrew Zimmern, best known as host of Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods:

Korean Fried Pork Belly Sandwich - Inside this sandwich you'll find grilled pineapple, gochujang sauce and chili lime salt.

Lamb Koefte Burrito - To go along with the lamb, this burrito has fried eggplant slices, tomato-cucumber salad, hot sauce and tahini.

The Canteen Dog - Like the Beach Comber, this hot dog also has jalapenos. It also has cabbage slaw, mustard and something called "roasted vegetable mayo."

The Canteen Sausage - This cheddar sausage on a bun also has the roasted vegetable mayo and the other ingredients the Canteen Dog has.

The Rockies open the season Monday, April 4th in Phoenix. The Coors Field home opener is Friday, April 8.

If you're a baseball junkie, you might want to try out a variety of new samplings on Aramark's menus at its other nine ballparks across the country.
