Colorado National Speedway in Weld County announces plans to add a drag strip
The Colorado National Speedway in Dacono is expanding. The speedway announced on social media that it's adding a drag strip.
The strip will be a .8 mile track that "embodies backcountry street racing but in a safe legal environment." It will not be NHRA style. It will have a full professional Portatree timing system.
The opening date for the strip hasn't been set yet. The goal, according to the speedway, is to expand motor sports in Weld County and across Northern Colorado.
Colorado National Speedway's season opens on May 2 with Cars Tour West.
