Bill To Create New Insurance Option Passes State House

DENVER (CBS4) - An effort to lower health care costs in Colorado is moving through the state legislature. Colorado Health Insurance Option passed the State House by a 40-23 vote.

The bill would create a new insurance option unless insurers start lowering premiums by 2023.

The bill's sponsors say it will save Coloradans and small businesses as much as 20% on health insurance and also create a new choice for consumers.
