Colorado Health Department Offering Remote Tests
DENVER (AP) - Colorado health officials are offering Medicaid patients the option of doing routine health checks from home.
The program announced Thursday allows a registered nurse to monitor a client's weight, temperature, blood glucose, blood pressure, pulse and lung functions. The information is sent using the Internet, phone or other equipment.
State officials say the program will save money by reducing the number of unnecessary emergency room and hospital visits.
