City Park Memorial To Fallen DPD Officer Vandalized

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Police learned overnight that someone had vandalized a memorial to a DPD fallen officer. The memorial sits in Denver's City Park and is dedicated to Officer Celena Hollis.

Hollis was shot and killed in June of 2012 while trying to break up a fight during a crowded concert in the park. The man that fired the gunshot is serving a 26-year prison sentence.

The vandals spray painted the memorial with a derogatory comment toward police.

It was dedicated last June, 2014, with the words "Blessed are the Peacemakers."
