Christo Facing New Lawsuit To Stop His 'Over The River' Project
CANON CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - The push for a massive art project along the Arkansas River is facing a new lawsuit.
The artist known as Christo wants to drape fabric over six miles of the Arkansas River between Salida and Canyon City. It's called the "Over The River" project.
Last month the Bureau of Land Management approved the project, but now a group known as "Rags Over the Arkansas River" is filing a lawsuit to stop it. They say it would damage the environment, lead to public safety problems and endanger wildlife.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports Christo and the Bureau of Land Management is asking a federal judge to throw out the lawsuit.
