CDOT Projects Include Adding More Express Lanes

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The Colorado Department of Transportation discussed its upcoming road construction projects to improve driving in the Denver metro area.

On Wednesday CDOT announced it will add express lanes on C-470 between Interstate 25 and Wadsworth Boulevard.

Another project discussed is the I-25 and Arapahoe Road interchange renovation to ease the backups on southbound I-25.

"With the new project we can actually accommodate a triple left turn and so some of that traffic that's actually queuing up on southbound I-25 will no longer do that so it's really a massive safety improvement," said CDOT Region 1 Transportation Director Paul Jesaitis.

Other upcoming projects include adding express lanes on I-25 in the north metro area and installing new censors to improve how ramp meters manage traffic.
