Castle Rock Man Dies After Fall In Rocky Mtn. National Park
ESTES PARK, Colo. (CBS4)- A man from Castle Rock died after falling in Rocky Mountain National Park.
The 47-year-old man was with friends at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday when he slid about 100 feet down Andrews Glacier and onto the rocks below.
Andrews Glacier is above Loch Vale in the Glacier Gorge area of the park. It is roughly five miles from the Glacier Gorge Trailhead.
A crew from the national park was not too far away. They rushed to help the man but didn't get there until 3:35 p.m. His body was flown by helicopter to a helispot in Glacier Basin Campground at 6:15 p.m.
His body was then transferred to the Larimer County Coroner who will determine the cause of death.
