Car Smashes Through Back Yard, Creates Storm-Like Damage

DENVER (CBS4) - A homeowner was asleep when a driver smashed into his back yard early Wednesday morning. That driver could face DUI charges.

The crash took place near West Evans Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

The driver hit a small steel pole and split it into two, took out the fence, hit a trailer parked in the back yard and likely destroyed a separate garage or shed at the end of the property. The scene afterwards resembled damage from a windstorm.

The homeowner told CBS4 this happens too often. He said he is still dealing with a court case from the last time someone hit his property.

The driver took off, but was stopped a few blocks away and taken to the hospital. The driver faces DUI charges.
