Car crashes into Aurora bicycle store, 1 person hurt
One person was taken to the hospital on Monday after a car crashed into a Colorado business. It happened early in the morning in Aurora at Hood Wrench Cycles on North Billings Street.
Police aren't sure yet what caused the crash.
"They said it might have been a medical emergency, which is kind of what I thought the whole way through, just from the trajectory of the vehicle going through the field, hitting a sign, and then resting inside the shop," Hood Wrench Cycles owner Justin Hood said.
Investigators are adding up the cost of the damage. Parts of the walls were destroyed, and multiple bicycles that the shop was selling or working on were found at the scene, heavily damaged.
Hood said more than a dozen bikes that were at the shop for repairs were "mangled."
He said the shop is now working to contact owners of the bicycles that were affected by the crash and working with the store's insurance company.
The Aurora Fire Department said the driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries.
