Boulder's Coyote Hazing Program Ends

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Boulder's coyote hazing program to keep the wild animals from harassing hikers is coming to an end.

Boulder Open Space employees and volunteers hit the trail for the last time on Sunday. To keep the animals at bay, hikers blow air horns or throw objects near the animals.

Since there have been less encounters with coyotes in recent days wildlife experts say it's not necessary to keep up with hazing shifts. They started last month after several reports of aggressive coyotes.
