Bill Would Allow Gun Purchase Without Background Check

DENVER (CBS4)- A bill aimed at getting rid of a state background check to buy a gun in Colorado has passed the state House.

Supporters believe the rule duplicates a federal background check already in place.

Opponents worry the federal check may not catch certain things such as local restraining orders.

The bill faces a tougher debate in the state Senate.
