Backcountry Skiers Trigger Avalanche Near Silverton, 3 Missing
SILVERTON, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials say a group of backcountry skiers triggered an avalanche on Monday in an area known as The Nose. That's off Middle Fork of Mineral Creek between Silverton and Ophir.
Search and rescue operations started Monday night, and there's a wide ranging area that's being searched.
Four people were caught and fully buried. Crews rescued one skier with only minor injuries but they are still out looking for the other three skiers.
