63-Year-Old Man Dies From Injuries In Shooting At 16th Ave, Lansing St In Aurora, No Arrests

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) -- Aurora Police Department responded to a deadly shooting Tuesday night. A 63-year-old man was found shot, and he died after being taken to the hospital, police said.

According to Aurora PD, police responded to the shooting at E 16th Avenue and Lansing Street, where the victim was found with a gunshot injury. No arrests have been made in the shooting, and there is no suspect info at this time.

Investigators believe individuals connected to the shooting then caused a two-vehicle crash at Montview Boulevard Peoria Street and also left that scene. A white truck was found nearby that was confirmed to be involved in the crash. Police say the truck was stolen and unoccupied. Detectives towed this vehicle and will process it, but investigators are uncertain if the truck or crash is directly related to the homicide.

Adams County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name after positive identification and notification of next-of-kin.

Anyone with information can call Aurora Police at 303-627-3100 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. By using Crime Stoppers, tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
