BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- The attorneys for the suspect in the unborn cut from the womb attack want the mother's comments on the Dr. Phil show excluded from the trial.
Attorneys for suspect Dynel Lane have cited 18 comments made by Michelle Wilkins on the show that aired on CBS4 in September 2015.
Wilkins and Dr. Phil discuss the viability of the baby, who did not survive the attack, and also motherhood and family life.
Lane's trial is scheduled to start in mid-February. She is charged with attempted first degree murder and unlawful termination of pregnancy in the attack on Michelle Wilkins in March 2015 at Lane's home.
Wilkins was seven months pregnant and had answered an ad for clothes when she was attacked, stabbed and her unborn baby was cut out of her body. She survived but the baby did not.
