Arrest Made In Connection With Missing 19-Year-Old Woman

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) – An arrest has been made in the case of a 19-year-old woman who disappeared more than a week ago and remains missing.

Lea Chali Porter, of Pueblo, was visiting a close friend in Westminster when she left in the middle of the night. That friend -- Christopher Waide -- was the last known person to see her and is now the suspect in the case and in custody. He turned himself in Thursday night.

Westminster police, at this point, told CBS4 the case is "leaning toward a murder."

Detectives searched the Waide's apartment, which he shares with a roommate, earlier this week.

Multiple neighbors told CBS4 that on Wednesday night a dumpster outside was searched and hauled away along with Porter's Saturn, which was still in the parking lot, but her personal belongings were gone.

Detectives say Waide has been cooperative up to this point in their investigation.
