Animal Shelters Hold Adoption Day At State Capitol
DENVER (CBS4) - Anyone looking to adopt a pet can head to the west steps of the state Capitol building on Wednesday.
Local animal shelters have 100 dogs and cats up for adoption.
State Sen. David Balmer is one of the hosts. He says if tax day is stressing people out, the adoption event will lift them up.
"We thought we would give people a chance to burn off some of that tax day stress, come out and see some dogs and cats. Maybe take some home or at very least meet them today," said PetSmart Charities spokesman Dave Wintz.
The event was part of National Adoption weekend.
