8 Senior DU Lacrosse Players Practice In Denver For Last Time, Head To Final Four

DENVER (CBS4) - The University of Denver lacrosse team headed to Philadelphia on Wednesday for championship weekend. It's their third straight trip to the Final Four.

The Pioneers will face top-seeded Notre Dame in the semifinals on Saturday, and should they win they would play in their first-ever national championship game on Monday.

Either way it's been quite a ride for the team's eight seniors.

"It's my last time practicing here (at DU), so it's upsetting, but it's also kind of cool," DU senior goalie Ryan LaPlante said. "You've done the entire process with this program. When I committed here it was right before they made their first tournament game. And now seeing the program grow to where it is, it's just unbelievable. So it's really exciting times."

The Pioneers beat Notre Dame in the regular season but had to come from behind to do so.
