4 Injured, Including Firefighters In House Fire In Aurora
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A house fire in Aurora sent four people to the hospital, including two firefighters on Monday.
Flames broke out just after noon at a home on Asbury Place near Buckley and Mexico. When firefighters arrived they entered the home to fight the blaze, but it got so bad they had to fall back and fight it from the outside.
The firefighters suffered minor injuries. The conditions of the woman living at the home and another adult woman haven't been released.
A witness tried to help before fire crews arrived.
"Apparently she was in shock. We approached her, we were trying to calm down, we asked her if anyone else was inside. She said, 'Yes,' her pets," witness Jesus Obees said.
He said he managed to save a dog from the fire, but then the fire got too bad to help further.
"If it had been a human life, that would have been different, but it wasn't worth us going in there to get the pets," Obees said.
The house was heavily damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
