1 Injured In Apartment Fire

DENVER (CBS4) - One person was injured in an early morning apartment fire on Tuesday.

Copter4 flew over the burning Warren Park Apartments on South Depew Street, southwest of South Sheridan Boulevard and West Jewell Avenue.

Everyone was able to escape but one person, a pregnant woman, was rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation. It was also believed she may have been in labor.

"I had a pregnant lady in the next door unit that we had to get out. I was worried more about her, to be honest. Fire engines got here, ambulance got here. They were able to get her out, get her to the hospital. I believe a baby's going to be born today," said apartment manager Julie Ronalds.

It turns out it was a false alarm but the woman is unable to return to her apartment.

The damaged unit is condemned and tenants on the third floor were not allowed to go back inside on Tuesday morning. Three units were deemed unlivable.

There are 23 units in the building.

What caused the fire is under investigation.
