1 Dead, 2 Hurt In Aurora Bar Shooting

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora searched Friday for suspects in a deadly shooting at a bar overnight that left one person dead and two others hurt.

Officers rushed to El Bronco Bar at 9496 E. Montview Blvd. near Clinton and Montview in Aurora about 12:45 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to the hospital where one man died. A second victim was in serious condition Friday morning and a third victim is expected to survive.

Witnesses said the bar was packed.

"We were just talking and then we heard gunshots, and she thought it was like fireworks or something," said witness Santiago Uc, who pulled a female companion from the scene.

Investigators say there was an altercation inside the bar that escalated to the shooting. Police said the suspects are two Hispanic males, but descriptions are limited beyond that. Security cameras in the bar may help identify them or narrow the search, police said.

"I think anyone who shoots at people in a bar are a danger to the public," Aurora Police spokeswoman Diana Cooley said.

There were several witnesses inside the bar and investigators are working to interview them about the suspects and what may have triggered the shooting.

"There are going to be a lot of witnesses to this incident because the bar was full. It is going to be a little bit more extensive to find out exactly what happened as it was a mostly Spanish-speaking population that was inside," Cooley said.

Police have not released the identities of the shooting victims.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Aurora police or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
