There have been 3 hospital shootings in the Chicago area in the past month
The shooting of a LaPorte County deputy at a Michigan City, Indiana hospital is the third shooting at a hospital in the past month. In late April a CPD officer was killed and his partner critically injured in a shooting at Swedish Hospital in Chicago, while just over a week ago a man was shot by a security guard at hospital in Gary, Indiana.
