North Carolina braces for rough conditions as Hurricane Erin churns over the Atlantic

North Carolina is under a state of emergency as Hurricane Erin sends dangerous waves slamming into its coast. Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for parts of the Outer Banks, and heavy equipment is helping to shore up dunes there.
