Marvel introduces its first Muslim-American superhero character

Marvel’s first Muslim American superhero has emerged as “Ms. Marvel” makes the leap from comics to Disney+ this summer. Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, is a Muslim, Pakistani American high school student from New Jersey who envisions herself as a version of Captain Marvel.
