In a rare Sunday session in the U.S. Senate, the chamber voted to advance Sen. Markwayne Mullin's nomination to become the Secretary of Homeland Security. Two Democrats voted with Republicans, in a 54 to 37 split. A final confirmation vote is expected in the coming days.
