Bring Chicago Home tax referendum trailing in the polls

While thousands of mail ballots have yet to be counted, most Chicago voters so far have rejected a bid by Mayor Brandon Johnson and his progressive allies on the City Council to raise taxes on the sales of million-dollar properties to help fund efforts to fight homelessness.
