Auto workers could go on strike as Thursday night deadline looms

The clock is ticking toward what could be an historic strike by the United Auto Workers. The union is pushing for a 40% pay increase for employees over four years, plus a four-day work week, with five days’ worth of pay, among other demands. Ford, GM, and Stellantis have all submitted counter offers that were quickly rejected by the union.
