Chicago expressway reopens on North Side after wrong-way crash
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A wrong-way crash closed all lanes on the Kennedy Expressway Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the wrong-way driver in a car slammed into the front of a garbage truck in the outbound lanes at Armitage Avenue around 5:45 a.m.
The Chicago Fire Department said one person was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition.
IDOT is working to clear the garbage truck and the fuel that leaked from the truck.
All lanes have reopened just after 7 a.m.
