Chicago alderman have until May to decide on a new ward map

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago alderman have until May to agree on a new ward map or voters may get to decide.

Members from the Chicago Black Caucus and the Latino Caucus remain deadlocked on the new boundaries. It'll be the first time in 30 years new boundaries would be set.

They need eight more votes to avert a referendum in June.
