(STMW) -- Two people were shot Saturday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened in the 6900 block of South Justine about 1:20 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

A male, whose age was not immediately available, was shot and taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Zala said.

A female was also shot and taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital.

Details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.
