Tornado Likely Caused Damage In South Suburban Summit

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A tornado was the likely cause of the storm damage on Tuesday in south suburban Summit.
The National Weather service reports that a brief EF-0 tornado--with 75 mph winds--hit shortly after 1 p.m.
The likely tornado traveled about a half mile and was 50-yards wide, the NWS said.
Based on a ground survey, combined with radar data, the NWS concluded the town was likely hit by a tornado.
Most of the damage was to trees, along with some minor roof damage.
CBS 2 found this vehicle was damaged by fallen tree branches.
