Speed Is Key To Bears' Defense

In two of their last three games, the Bears' have allowed over 30 points. While some may be beginning to worry, the Bears see no need to panic.

"We're still going to run the things that we run," Bears' linebacker Lance Briggs said. "We just [need] to put ourselves in better position to make plays."

These two poor games are more likely a product of teams having a wealth of film to study the Bears, instead of deficiencies in the schemes or players.

"This defense, as long as we can play fast, we'll be effective," Briggs said. "I think a lot of what offenses are trying to do is slow us down a little bit. When you slow us down, you give yourself a chance."

Although the Bears' offense has been playing much better, and picked up the slack against the Jets, the Bears' defense will need to be able to find ways to play fast in the playoffs.

And with the amount a film growing by the game, the defense will have to start playing some of their best football of the season.
