Semi-Trailer Truck Topples Over Side Of Dan Ryan Expressway Near Chinatown

CHICAGO (CBS) — A semi-trailer truck toppled over the side of the Dan Ryan expressway near Chinatown early Thursday morning.
Authorities said the truck was traveling southbound at about 1:09 a.m. in the left lane of the Dan Ryan at 27th Street when high winds caused the truck to veer left an strike the concrete barrier, causing it to roll over the barrier and fall onto Wentworth Avenue below the expressway.
Illinois State Police said two occupants in the truck were taken to the hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
