The Rock Island line will remain closed on Sunday so crews can raise the railroad bridge on 79th Street near Lowe.
It's part of the new Auburn Park station, which is slated to open by the end of the year.
Riders are advised to use alternatives, including the Metra electric and the CTA Red Line.
Service is scheduled to be restored in time for the Monday morning commute.
