(CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs have acquired free-agent catcher David Ross, multiple sources reported Friday.

In a post-season marked by major deals and additions, Ross, recently of the Boston Red Sox, would be paid $5 million under a two-year contract, Fox Sports MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal tweeted.

He will join left-handed pitcher Jon Lester, also from the Red Sox, who recently signed a mega-deal with the Cubs.
