Report: Cubs, Red Sox Negotiations For Epstein Not Starting Well
CHICAGO (CBS) – Initial negotiations to bring Boston Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein to the Chicago Cubs got off to a rocky start Thursday, a Boston sports radio station is reporting online.
WEEI reported that the first day of talks between the ball clubs got snagged over fundamental issues, with Boston expecting player prospects from Chicago and the Cubs organization preferring to pay cash. Epstein, who would replace fired Cubs GM Jim Hendry, has another year left on his contract with Boston – necessitating a deal between the baseball teams.
