Record-breaking 4th of July travel expected at Chicago airports
An expected record-breaking 4th of July travel period is underway at Chicago's airports on Wednesday.
O'Hare and Midway airports are seeing a bump in traffic, with nearly 2 million passengers expected through Monday, July 6.
Sunday is expected to be the busiest day at O'Hare Airport, with more than 300,000 passengers arriving or departing.
The record numbers at O'Hare mark an 8.1 % increase over July 4th, 2025.
