(CBS) -- Police are warning Far South Side residents of three attempted child abductions in a span of three days.

During each attempt, a man engaged a child in conversation and then attempted to lure the child into his vehicle, according to Area South detectives.

The most recent incident happened about 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 11300 block of South Washtenaw and involved a 15-year-old girl, police said.

On Sunday, someone attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl from the 3500 block of West 108th Street about 2:10 p.m., police said.

The first reported incident happened about 3 p.m. Saturday in the 11300 block of South Drake and involved a 10-year-old boy.

Police gave only vague descriptions of the suspects, one of whom was driving a white work van, while the other drove a maroon four-door vehicle.

In one of the incidents, the man in the maroon vehicle used a small dog to attempt to lure the victim, police said.
