Police: Car Crash "Is Certainly Puzzling"
BATAVIA, Ill. (WBBM) – Batavia Police say they are still investigating the death of a Geneva man who crashed his car under a semi truck last evening.
Authorities are waiting for results of an autopsy tomorrow.
"At the point, it is certainly puzzling," says Batavia Deputy Police Chief James Dixon who added the 30-year-old man drove his car under the semi well before dark, hitting it squarely.
"A large semi parked in a parking lot and a vehicle travels underneath it. We don't have an explanation for it at this point and we're hoping some of the medical data that comes back clues us into the right direction," according to Dixon.
Dixon says the man had been in Wal-Mart and was not driving toward the parking lot exit when he crashed his car, "There was no specific reason for him to travel the direction he did."
Deputy Chief Dixon says any witnesses who might not have spoken to police are asked to call authorities.
