Police: 1 Killed, 1 Injured In Ashburn Neighborhood Shooting
(STMW) -- One man was killed and another was wounded early Saturday in an Ashburn neighborhood shooting on the Southwest Side, police said.
The men, both 23, were standing on the sidewalk about 2:50 a.m. in the 8000 block of South Fairfield, when a male walked out of a nearby gangway and opened fire, police said.
One man was shot in the head and the right leg. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not be reached early Saturday to confirm the fatality.
The other man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a graze wound to the right arm, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized.
